ROLE
OF THE EFA (NT)
The EFA administers all business involving horses competing
in the three Olympic Disciplines (Dressage, Eventing, Showjumping),
Show Horse and the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme
(NCAS). This includes keeping records of all performances
up to date from results received from organisers of Official
EFA events. It is also up to the owner of the horse to keep
the relevant Performance Card up to date.
When you apply to register your horse with the EFA the horse
will be registered for Life. After the initial registration
it will be the horses Performance Card and the membership
of the owner/s that keeps the horse current.
Your papers will be processed promptly. However you should
allow 14 days for processing. All horses, owners, and riders
must be registered and financial members of the EFA before
lodging entries for Official events.
Please ensure that all paperwork is completed correctly
as errors will cause delays in
processing. Paperwork that is incorrectly completed will
be returned.
Should you have any queries our Registrar, Carmen Nowak,
will be happy to help you. Carmen can be contacted on 8988
1170 after 7.30pm and before 9pm.

AGE OF HORSE FOR
REGISTRATION: It should be noted that whilst a horse
can be registered with the EFA at any age a Performance
Card will not be issued until such time as the horse has
reached its natural age of three (3). Before being eligible
to compete in Official EFA events a horse must have a current
Performance Card.
HEIGHT OF HORSES FOR DRESSAGE:
Please note that to compete in Dressage a horse must be
over 14.2 hands. To ensure that you are eligible to compete
it is strongly suggested that you have your horse measured.
SHOW HORSE COMPETITORS
New classes for Pony, Galloway and Hack was introduced in
1998 to the major shows. These classes are detailed in the
schedules as EFA Associate. To be eligible to enter these
classes it will be necessary for the rider to be a current
financial member of the EFA as a Senior, Junior or Associate.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
· It is important for you to be a financial member
of the EFA if you own or ride a horse that competes in an
Official EFA event. Membership cards, horse registration
papers, performance cards and (if applicable) measurement
certificates must be produced on demand.
· Only financial members of the EFA can register
a horse. The owner must produce a bill of sale or receipt
to prove ownership. If this is not possible, a Statutory
Declaration may be required. All horses must be branded
or tattooed prior to registration.
· If incorrect information is furnished on an Application
for Registration, the Board may cancel the registration,
may disqualify the applicant and may also disqualify the
horse and/or owner.

· To compete in Official Dressage, Showjumping or
Eventing the horse must have a current performance card.
If the horse competes without this card or in an incorrect
class/grade or event, the owner and rider are liable to
penalty such as a fine or disqualification.
· To obtain a performance card, the owner must state
the discipline for which it is required.
· It is strongly advised that you obtain a copy of
the Rule Book applicable to the discipline that you are
competing in and make yourself familiar with the rules of
that discipline. Any infringement of the rules will incur
disciplinary action. It is your responsibility to know the
rules under which you compete. Ignorance is no excuse.
